The Unknown Soldier
We are men who swore our lives for what we feel is right
We stand by our country in the dawn’s early light
We are ready to fight and will to stand
In an unknown battle in some far away land
We realize the chance of death is close at hand
For what is wrong or right no one understands
We leave our friends, we leave our loved ones in despair
Leaving nothing but memories and distant stare
We are sons or fathers to our family’s we know
We are the unknown soldier to the enemy our foe
We fight for you to our last dying breath
We lie on battlefields with stench of death
So we live our lives with a hope and prayer
Hoping one day someone will realize and show they care
One single soldier now guards my grave
Where white cross’s stand and flags now wave
Time repeats itself so they say
How many soldiers must it take before we learn the right way
